Madeline H. Brassick

Madeline Helen Brassick, age 100, of Bishop Noa Homein Escanaba, (formerly of 1317 Michigan Avenue,Gladstone) died early Monday morning January 19, 2004at the Bishop Noa Home. Madeline was born October 24, 1903 in Blackenburger, Belgium the daughter of Constant Cornelius and Leona (Verhamme) VanDaele. She was raised in Belgium until the age of 3 when her family immigrated to Gladstone. She attended Gladstone Public Schools until she moved to Chicago. She was united in marriage to Leo Brassick on June 24, 1924 at All Saints Church in Gladstone. While in Chicago, she worked as a hairdresser until their son Bill was born. Following Leo’s retirement in 1965 they returned to Gladstone. Madeline was a member of All Saints Church in Gladstone, the Gladstone Child’s Welfare and she enjoyed knitting and playing Bridge.

Survivors include: 1 Sister: Edna Norstrom of Appleton, WI; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Leo, she was preceded in death by Son: Bill Brassick;
Brother:Floyd VanDaele; 2 Sisters: Alice Krout and Mary McCauley

Madeline’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral
Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial services celebrating the life of Madeline H. Brassick will follow at 6:00 P.M. at All Saints Church with Rev. Jacek Wtyklo and Rev. Gilbert Neurohr officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. The Skradski Boyce Family Funeral Homes are assisting the Brassick family with arrangements.
