Dana Lynn Latsch, 32, of 3310 8th Avenue South, Escanaba, died at home unexpectedly, Monday, January 5, 2004.
Dana was born July 3, 1971 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the daughter of Lynn and Dawn (Peterson) Latsch. Dana was raised in Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1990. Following high school, Dana went on to attend Bay de Noc Community College and in 1998, she graduated from Bay, with her degree in nursing as an LPN. Dana worked for Garys 5 Corner Store for a number of years, Rampart Ambulance Service as an E.M.T., and St. Francis Hospital as a Surgical Tech. Dana loved the water and enjoyed boating, and swimming. She also enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling and spending time with her family, especially her loving son Spencer.
Dana is preceded in death by her Grandfather, Dwyne Peterson; In addition to her parents, Lynn (Peggy) Latsch of Escanaba and Dawn (Doug) Schmidt of Rapid River, survivors include: Her Son: Spencer Latsch; 2 Brothers: Doug (Karen) Latsch of Collinsville, IL, Jeff (Kristie) Latsch of Escanaba, MI; Grandparents: Geraldine Peterson of Wells, MI, Cecil (Jennie) Latsch of Gooseneck Lake, MI, Joseph (Helen) Huff of Gladstone, MI, Roy "BUD" (Margaret) Schmit of Escanaba, MI; Dana also leaves to survive: 1 Niece; 1 Nephew; and many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Danas family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00PM to 6:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Parish prayers will be recited at 5:45PM at the Skradski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial Services celebrating the life of Dana Lynn Latsch will be held on Saturday at 10:00AM at the St. Charles Church in Rapid River with Rev. Jacek Wtyklo and Deacon Bill Green officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba. Memorial contributions in honor of Dana may be directed to the Latsch family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes are assisting the Latsch and Schmidt family with arrangements.
