David Lee Paulin

David Lee Paulin 56 of 2116 Ave. S., Escanaba, MI, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his family at the Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette on Sunday morning January 18,2004.
He was born March 20,1947 in Escanaba the only child of Francis and Margaret (Jakes) Paulin and was married to the former Janie Troyer on April 1,1967 and she survives.
David was employed by Mead Paper Corp. for 35 years working his way up from the beater Room through paper testing, kraft mill and then into the maintenance dept. as a combination welder. He perfected his skills for 4 years in the Welding tech program at Bay College.
David was an avid hunter and walleye fisherman. He was also active in late-model stock car racing in Escanaba and Kaukauna. He attended Nascar races at Atlanta Raceway every year He was an great golfer, discovering the sport later in life. David enjoyed traveling to and playing different golf courses in the Upper Peninsula, Mrytle Beach, Golf Shores Alabama and Florida. He was a member of the Escanaba Country Club and the Highland Golf Course
He enjoyed his children and grandchildren. David was a major influence in his sons career as a welder He also followed his daughters career in the U.S. Air Force and saw a lot of the world that included Germany, Korea, and Washington D.C.. He was also a member of the B.P.O.E. #354,the Mead Retirment Club, the Mead Charity Club, PACE Local #21 and St. Anne Church.
He leaves to survive his wife of 36 years Janie; 1 Son: David Michael (Linda) Paulin of Rapid River, MI; 1 Daughter: Alicia Mae Walker of Lake Geneva, WI; 5 Grandchildren: David Michael Paulin Jr., Taylor, Aleece, and Mya Paulin and Ethan Walke; Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aunts and Uncles.
Friends may call at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba on Friday, January 23rd from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Parish Prayers will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial for David Paulin will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Church with Fr. Mike Steber officiating. A lunch will follow in the church hall following the mass.
In Lieu of flowers the family request that donations be directed to the family. The funds will be donated to the renovation of and equipment for the Bay Area Cancer Center and the Delta County Cancer Alliance.
The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes are assisting the Paulin Family with arrangements. |
