Matthew James Szukalowski

Matthew James “The Pollack” Szukalowski , 67, of 11538 Co. Road 426, Watson, MI. passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2004 at home.

Matthew was born and raised in Hamtramck, Mich. the son of Matthew and Helen (Biczak) Szukalowski. In 1953, he joined the U.S. Navy and served 6 years aboard the carrier, USS Hornet, overseas. Upon his honorable discharge in 1959, he settled in the Lower Peninsula until 1972, when he moved his wife and five children to “Dewey Hill” in Watson, Michigan.

Matt loved the outdoors. His first love was duck hunting. “His spirit will remain in the woods and on the water and in every Autumn breeze.”

He leaves to survive his wife of 37 years the former Ruth Khollman. 3 Sons: Matthew (Lisa) Szukolawski of Grand Rapids, MI, Marvin (Jayne) Szukalowski of Escanaba, MI, Alan Szukalowski of Escanaba, MI, 2 Daughters: Alisa (Henry) Williams of Harris, MI, Helen Szukalowski of San Francisco, CA, 1 Brother: Hilary Szukalowski of Louisville, KY, 4 Grandchildren
many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; and 1 Brother: Marvin Szukalowski.

There will be no public visitation and Memorial  Services for Matthew J. Szukalowski will be held in the spring of this year. A notice will be published at the time of the service.

The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes are assisting the family.
