Gerald F. Jerry Bazinet, age 72, of Rock (P.O. Box 134), died Wednesday, March 17th, 2004 at the home of his son, Michael, in Kingsford where he was currently residing during his illness.
Jerry was born July 2nd, 1931 in Rock, the son of Archie and Verly (Trombley) Bazinet and was a graduate of the Rock High School. He resided in Rock all his life except for a brief period of time when he lived and worked in Flint. He served in the US Army from July 2nd, 1949 to December 5th, 1952 and was stationed in Guam for a period of time.
Jerry married the former Martina M. Tina Sinnaeve December 19th, 1955 in Flint and she preceded him in death October 24th, 1999.
In his early working life, he was employed for Cleveland Cliff Iron Company for ten years and later worked for the Delta County Road Commissin for 31 years, retiring in 1993 as a Road Commission Foreman.
Jerry was a lifetime member of the Rock American Legion and was known as an outdoorsman and an avid fisherman.
Jerry Bazinets survivors include:
1 Son: Michael ( Missy) Bazinet of Kingsford
1 Daughter: Pam (Tim) Groleau of Escanaba
4 Grandchildren: Sandra and Michael Bazinet and Kimberly and Michael Groleau
In addition to his parents and loving wife, Tina , he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Archie, and Francis Bazinet and by one sister, Patsy Bazinet.
Private visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Burial will be in the Rock Cemetery.
