Gary J. Bougie, 48, of 524 South 14th Street Escanaba died on Sunday April 25, 2004 unexpectedly at St. Francis Hospital.
Gary was born February 14, 1956 in Escanaba, the son of George and Frances (Bussineau) Bougie and had attended St. Thomas Grade School. He was a graduate of the Escanaba High School class of 1975. While in High School, he participated in basketball, football and played American Legion Baseball. After high school he played hard ball with the Escanaba Bears. In latter years, he played slow-pitch soft ball for Universal Auto and Degrand Oil. Gary loved hunting and fishing and going to Camp Keg with his sons and friends. He loved playing pool and was a member of the Delta Co. Mens Pool League for several years. He was an avid Green Bay Packer Fan.
Gary worked for E.M.P. for the past 22 years and was the oldest (#1 with seniority) union employee there.
He was married to the former Julie Cloutier on August 7, 1982 and she survives along with 2 Daughters: Dominique and Michaela at home. 3 Sons: Brooks, attending Lake Superior State College, Blake, attending Michigan State and Andrew at home. He is also survived by 1 Sister: Barbara (James) Couillard of Ford River and 3 Brothers: James (Donna) Bougie of Tucson, Arizona, Richard (Mary) Bougie and Donald (Joanne) Bougie both of Escanaba. His Mother: Frances of Escanaba and his favorite Mother-In-Law: Maxine Cloutier. Numerous Aunts, Uncles,Nieces,Nephews and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father: George in 1986 and 1 Brother: Dan in 1998.
The family will receive friends on Thursday April 29th from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. At the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial for Gary Bougie will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 PM at St. Anne Church with Fr. Mike Steber officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A Lunch will follow the Mass in The Church Hall.
Memorials in his name should be directed to the Bougie Family for a memorial to be chosen at a latter time.
