Pearl Brady

Pearl Janice Brady, age 84, of 2600 South Hill Road, Gladstone, wife of Gerald Brady slipped through the portals to be ever with the Lord Jesus on Friday morning May 7, 2004. There was a happy reunion in the home of those redeemed by the blood of Jesus of family and friends who had gone on before, such a quiet home going.

Pearl was born Sept 13, 1919 in Harrison, MI the daughter of Fred and Zola (Cooper) Clark Sr. She was raised in Harrison and was a 1935 graduate of Harrison High School. Pearl continued her education at Central Michigan University and received her B.S. degree in Education.

Pearl began her teaching career teaching in one and two room schools in the Harrison and Clare County school districts. Along with teaching she was also responsible for the custodial work in these districts. She finished her teaching career in the Gladstone School District teaching at the Flat Rock Elementary School. Her name is registered in the "Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America". Pearl was united in marriage to Gerald Brady on June 25, 1939 in Harrison, MI. and they made their residence in Harrison until 1965 when they relocated to Gladstone. Pearl was a very loyal wife, mother and Pastor's wife.

She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone, the M.E.A. and N.E.A. In addition to quilting and crocheting, her hobbies included tending to her flower garden.

She was the mother of 2 sons:
Gerald "Bud" Brady of Harrison, MI
Lenord (Maria) Brady of Thorne Bay, Alaska

1 daughter, Sharon who preceded her in death 4 years ago to be with the lord.

She had 3 granddaughters:
Jenny (Tony) Wise of Thorne Bay, Alaska
Mary (Wes) Killion of Boardman, OR
April Sherman of Mt. Pleasant, MI

3 Grandsons:
Chief Petty Officer Gerald (Lisa) Brady of San Diego, CA
Michael (Sery) Brady of Alma, MI
Daniel Sherman of Escanaba, MI

10 Great Grandchildren

2 Sisters: Irene Failing of Frankenmuth, MI and Zoella (Edgar) Brady of Clearwater, FL; 1 Brother, Frederick (Jean) Clark of Zephyr Hills, FL; 1 Sister-in-law: Tillie Clark of Lumas, MI

Numerous nieces, nephews and a world of friends.

In addition to her parents and daughter Sharon, she was preceded in death by a brother Rouelle Clark.

Pearl's family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Pearl Janice Brady will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the
church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. Luncheon will follow. Burial will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrison, MI.
