Mary Ann Elise Marcella, 74, of 8399 CR 426 L Road, Cornell, MI died, of cancer, Wednesday morning May 12, 2004 at her home in Cornell.
Mary Ann was born in Gladstone January 15, 1930, the only child of Clifford and Leona (Methot) Chroge. She lived most of her life in the Delta County area and graduated from the Gladstone High School in 1948. Mary Ann then went on to attend nursing school at St. Anthonys in Rockford, Illinois. She married Walter J. Marcella at All Saints Church in Gladstone on March 29, 1951. They lived their entire lives in Cornell. Mary Ann was a member of the Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. She served as a Eucharistic minister during mass at the church. She also taught Catechism and served as a lector. Mary Ann volunteered much of her time to helping Hospice and also teaching Reading Buddies at the Jones Elementary School and the Cameron Elementary School. Mary Ann also enjoyed reading, needlework and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Clifford and Leona, Mary Ann is preceded in death by: Mother and Father In-Law, John Sr. and Catherine (Burcar) Marcella; Step Father-In-Law, Matt Senior; Sister-In-Law, Rita (Hemil) Marcella. Also preceding Mary Ann in death are many Aunts and Uncles.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Parish prayers will be recited at 7:30PM on Friday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Mary Ann Elise Marcella will be on Saturday at 10:00AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock with Fr. Tom Schmied officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church parish hall. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Marcella family with arrangements.
