Alfred (Bud) J. Sarasin, 81, of 4702 17th Road, Escanaba, MI, passed away Wednesday June 30, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 20, 1922 in Escanaba, MI. the son of Adolph and Flora ( Gagne) Sarasin. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II in the 286th Joint Assault Company from 1943 to 1947. Bud married the former Mildred I. Hurkmans on September 3, 1945 in Escanaba and they were lifelong residents.
He was employed as a woods worker and later worked as a construction laborer until his retirement in 1985.

6 Sons:Dale (Micki) Sarasin of Gladstone, Daryl (Rose) Sarasin of Cornell, John (Laura) Sarasin of Cornell, David (Paula) Sarasin of Watson, Jeffrey (Lynn) Sarasin of Gladstone,Donald (Karen) Sarasin of Marquette
4 Sisters:Elaine (Wally) Johnson, Rosemary Johnson, Pat (Chuck) Ustine, Phyllis (Mike) Summers
1 Sister-in-law: Nora Sarasin
21 loving grandchildren, one of which is serving in the U.S. Army in Baghdad
18 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
Also survived by 6 Sister-in-laws and 3 Brother-in-laws.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother Raymond.
Bud’s family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Gladstone American Legion Post #71 Military Rites will follow at 5:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells Twp. |
