Leda “Pat” LaChapelle, age 90, of Escanaba died at the home of her daughter, June, in Flint, MI, Monday August 9th, 2004. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba, but moved to Flint in April of 2004.
She was born February 3th, 1914 in Schaffer, the daughter of George and Frances (Kuznia) Patrick. After finishing school, “Pat” lived and worked in Chicago for a few years before returning to Escanaba and marrying Gilbert LaChapelle on June 27th, 1935.
“Pat” was a member of St. Joseph/St. Patrick Church of Escanaba and at one time served as a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and baking in her leisure.
“Pat” LaChapelle’s survivors include:
2 Daughters Gail (Richard) Folger of New Smyrna Beach, FLA, June (Robert) Blaylock of Flint, MI
4 Sisters- Bernice Mahon of Rockford, MI, Janette Emmorey of Kent City, MI, Leona (Robert) Kasbohm of Perronville, MI, Gladys (Einie) Bittner of Hyde, MI
1 Brother- Larry (Bernice) Patrick of Schaffer, MI
5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews
The family of Leda “Pat” LaChapelle will receive friends on Friday at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Services celebrating the life of “Pat” Lachapelle will follow on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Richard Schaeffer officiating Entombment will follow services.
