James Franklin Yeadon, age 85, of Rock, died Sunday, August 22nd, 2004, at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette where he was residing for a number of years.
Jim was born February 18th, 1919 in Rexton, MI, the son of F. Franklin and Alveda (Cowman) Yeadon and lived in the Rock area for much of his life. When he was a young man, Jim entered military service and served with the US Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater during World War II. He married the former Vera V. Kapinen and she preceded him in death in 1969.
Jim was engaged in farming and was a woods-worker much of his working life and later retired from Snowden Construction. After his retirement, he was employed part-time for the U.S. Forest Service.
Jim was a member of the Rock Bible Chapel and in his leisure, he was known to enjoy 4-wheeling.
Jim Yeadon’s survivors include:
1 Daughter- Judy Hamilton of Fond Du Lac, WI
1 Brother- Joseph (Leona) Yeadon of Harvey, MI
2 Sisters- Carrie (Carlton) Johnson of Escanaba
Frances Fournier of Fond Du Lac, WI
2 Grandchildren, James Hamilton of Austin, TX and Richard Hamilton of Madison, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and his wife, Vera, Jim was preceded in death by 5 brothers; Archie, Charles, Louis, Donald and Benjamin “Pat” Yeadon, and by 2 sisters; Dorothy and Nancy.
The family of James Franklin Yeadon will receive friends on Tuesday at the Rock Bible Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Services celebrating his life will follow on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Rock Bible Chapel. Burial will be in the Rock Cemetery and luncheon will follow at the Rock Bible Chapel after the cemetery services. |
