Irene M. Pelletier, age 87, longtime St. Jacques area resident and former Rapid River resident, died Thursday September 23rd, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She had been residing at the Christian Park Health Care Center in recent times.
Irene was born July 29th, 1917 in St. Jacques, the daughter of Homer and Delvina (Belongia) Papineau and resided in that area almost all her life. She married Orville D. Pelletier and he preceded her in death on June 21st, 1982.
Irene was a member of St. Andrews Church in Nahma where was also a member of the Church Altar Society. Because of failing health, she was limited in her favorite past-times. However, Irene was content watching her favorite television programs.
Irene M. Pelletier survivor’s include:
1 Son- Richard (Joanne) Pelletier of Arizona
2 daughters- Karen Cole of Gladstone, Lorilie (Dick) Pilon of Isabella
Numerous grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Orville, she was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters, which made her the last survivor of her original family. She was also preceded in death by one son, Francis Orville Pelletier, in 1964.
The family of Irene M. Pelletier will receive friends on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Services celebrating Irene’s life will follow at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home with Deacon Rod Groleau officiating. Burial will be in the New Garden Cemetery. |
