Ruth F. Listle, age 90, of 7536 Co. 426 M.5 Road, Gladstone, died early morning Monday October 25, 2004 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Ruth was born February 7, 1914, in Gladstone, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Swenson) Lundstrom, who preceded her in death. She was raised in the Gladstone area and attended the Gladstone schools. Following school, Ruth moved to Racine, WI where she lived and worked for a period of time before eventually relocating back to the Delta County area where she married the late Walter Listle on November 9, 1935 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. The couple made their home in the Groos area and Ruth is remembered for working very hard as a homemaker raising their eight children. In their younger years, the couple enjoyed snowmobiling together. Ruth also enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and playing cards with family and friends. She was an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan who always cheered for the quarterback, Brett Favre. She loved visits from her neighbors and friends and she enjoyed traveling.

10 Grandchildren: Michael and Dan Babcock, Dwayne Kuehl, Kelly Reynolds, Lorrie Rodwell, John Jr., Kristi, and Paul Listle, Jamie Elmquist, Samantha Meyer
Also surviving are several great grandchildren and many cousins.
In addition to her parents, Charles and Gertrude and her husband, Walter, Ruth was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother and a son in law, Harold "Geno" Kuehl.
Family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Ruth F. Listle will follow visitation, at the Skradski Funeral Home, at 5:00PM, with Rev. Jonathan Schmidt from the First Lutheran Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at the First Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Committal services will be on Friday at 10:30AM at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or to the Delta County Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski Funeral Home. |
