George’s wife, Helen, and daughter, Eleanor (Noch) Dougherty, announce the death of George Noch on Monday, December 20, 2004. George died peacefully at his home at Northwoods Assisted Living, 501 South Lincoln Road, Escanaba, where they have lived since May of 2003. He was 91 years old.
George was born April 17, 1913 in Daisytown, PA to a coal mining family. His father Steve and mother Mary (Sarvaye) Noch had immigrated here from the country of Hungary. She was a midwife. George retired from the Dodge Main Plant in Hamtramck after 47 years of work.
In addition to his wife Helen and his daughter Eleanor, George is survived by; 1 son, Robert Noch. He was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Collene(Dougherty) Miller, Erinn (Dougherty) DePorre, John Dougherty Jr., Kathleen (Dougherty) Felix, and Robert, Jeffrey, Keith and Nicole Noch. George’s 19 great grandchildren will miss his enthusiasm for play. George was the last surviving, youngest member of 13 children.
Funeral services celebrating the life of George Noch will take place at the convenience of the Noch family at the Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home in Berkley, MI. Committal will be in the White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, MI. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Noch Family with arrangements.
