Walter D. “Wally” Balenger 44 of 909 North 17th Street Gladstone died on Tuesday morning, January 18, 2005, at home.
He was born September 27, 1960, in Escanaba the son of Harry and Josephine (Moreau) Balenger and was a graduate of the Gladstone High School. Wally was a veteran of the U.S. Marines having served from 1980 to 1983. He enjoyed bow and rifle hunting at Bovin’s Camp and his last year of deer hunting he shot a 6 pt. in the morning and an 8 pt. 3 hours later.He also raised wolfs as a hobby for about 7 years with his favorite being “Lobo”. Most receintly he had been employed by the Mead Corp. as a security guard.

2 Sisters: Annamae (Eugene) Nickell of Escanaba; Deborah (John) Vargo of Escanaba
6 Nieces and Nephews and many cousins
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; His Mother : Josephine and several Aunts and Uncles.
Friends may call at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba on Saturday January 22nd from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. A humanistic funeral service for Wally Balenger will be held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home by the family. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. |
