Rose Y. Beauchamp, age 78, of 4199 Maple Ride Road; Rock, died early Saturday morning, January 8th, 2005, at home surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. Rose was born February 27th, 1926 in the St. Nicholas area, the daughter of Emil and Eva (Ambeau) DeBacker and was raised there. She attended Rock High School. Rose and Ronald P. Beauchamp were united in marriage May 16th, 1945 at St. Joseph Church in Perkins. They spent their many years of marriage together farming with their ten children in the Rock area. They also found time in the 1960’s to operate the “Maple Lanes Bowling Alley” in Rock. After their retirement in the early 1980’s, they wintered in Port Richey, Florida. Ronald preceded her in death May 6th, 1994 and Rose continued to winter in Port Richey until failing health prevented her from doing so.
Rose Beauchamp was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Joseph Church in Perkins and St. Michael Church in Port Richey, Florida. She was known as a highly talented seamstress, including having sewn wedding dresses for family and friends. In addition, Rose enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening, and bowling. Family and friends remember her with her kind and beautiful smile and devotion to her loving family.

5 Sons-Thomas (Susie) Beauchamp of Rock; David (Sandy) Beauchamp of Rock; Daniel Beauchamp of Sturgeon Bay, WI; Douglas Beauchamp of Rock; Timothy (Carol) Beauchamp of St. Nicholas
5 Daughters- Barbara (Brand) Nummilien of Rock; Jean Beauchamp of Rock; Donna (Dennis) Koontz of Rapid City, MI; Rebecca Smith of Middleburg, Florida; Brenda (John) Wery of Rock
4 Sisters- Mary Beasley of Portland, Oregon; Jeanette (Paul) VanDamme of Watson; Dorothy (Jerry) VanDamme of Gladstone; Jane Pryal of Escanaba
27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ronald, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and Jerome DeBacker.
The family of Rose Y. Beauchamp will receive friends on Tuesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with parish prayers recited at 6:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow that evening at 8:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Church in Perkins with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo and Rose’s nephew, Rev. Fr. Larry VanDamme, officiating. Fellowship will follow services in the St. Joseph Church Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Rock Cemetery. |
