David O. Clark

David “Pete” Clark, age 63, of 5748 25th Road, Gladstone, died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack, Sunday January 23, 2005 at his home in Brampton. 

Pete was born April 5, 1941, at his family home in St. Ignace, the son of M. Donald and Marjorie (Wyers) Clark.  He was raised in St. Ignace and attended and graduated from the LaSalle High School.  Following school, Pete went on to enter the electrical trade where he worked as a journeyman inside wireman. On January 13, 1962, Pete married the former Janice Derusha, in St. Ignace, and in 1969 the couple relocated to the Gladstone area where they made their home and raised their children.  Pete continued to work for various employers nationwide until his retirement in April of 2003.  Pete was a member of the IBEW local union 979 and a former member of the Evangelical Free Church.  He served on both the church and union boards.  He enjoyed reading western and science fiction novels, and cheering for the Detroit Lions football team.  Pete was a fishing enthusiast taking great pride in ice and stream fishing.  In addition to fishing, Pete enjoyed deer hunting and is remembered for taking a 14point buck out of Mackinac County in 1986.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and was particularly proud of sharing the same birthday with his granddaughter.  Pete was loved by his family and will be deeply missed. 

Survivors include: Pete’s former wife, Janice

2 Sons:  Donald (Peggy) Clark of Escanaba, MI; Tony (Julie) Clark of Columbus, WI

1 Daughter:  Carmen (Bob) Livingston of Gwinn, MI

3 Brothers:  Mike (Lynn) Clark of Canton, MI; Bill (Ernie) Clark of Manistique, MI; Jim Clark of St Ignace, MI

1 Sister:  Janice Clark of St. Ignace, MI

Survivors also include, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Pete was preceded in death by his parents M. Donald and Marjorie Clark.

Family will receive friends on Thursday from 3:00PM to 5:30PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.  Funeral services celebrating the life of Pete Clark will follow visitation, at 5:30PM, at the funeral home, with Pastor Gerald Brady officiating.  Luncheon will be served, following funeral services, at the Days River Lions Club in Brampton.  Committal will be in the Garnet Cemetery.  The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Clark family with arrangements.
