Florence E. Dufresne, 96 of 630 South 14th Street Escanaba died on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Bishop Noa Home.
She was born June 29,1908 in Wilson, Michigan, the daughter of Matthew and Rose (Elliott) Heath and had attended the Escanaba High School and Cloverland Commercial College. Her husband Robert Dufresne whom she married in 1926, preceded her in death in 1935.
Florence had worked as a Deputy Register of Deeds in Delta County, had worked at St. Francis Hospital in the Accounting Dept. from 1952 to 1958 and had worked with auditors as cashier at the U.P. State Fair for many years.
She was a former member of the B.P.W., the Escanaba Womans Club, the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the League of Woman Voters, The Escanaba Country Club Bridge League, the Delta County Historical Society, the Volunters for the Arts Center, and past member of St. Patrick Church and it’s Alter Society. She was persently a member of St. Anne Church.
She leaves to survive:
2 Sons: Richard Dufresne of Escanaba; Paul (Ruth) Dufresne of Upper Marlboro, Md.
1 Daughter: Jean (Tony) Kobasic of Sun City West, Arizona
4 Grandchildren: Richard (Sandy) Kobasic of Phoenix, Arizona; Nancy Widzer of Tustin, Calif.; Laura Redmond of Upper Marlboro, Md.; Carol (Bill) Trent of Hoboken, New Jersey
4 Great Grandchildren: Brandon Roth, Jackie and Jules Kobasic and Julienne Trent
Many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Parish Prayers will be recieted at 7:00PM. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Florence Dufresne will be held Friday at St. Anne Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Mike Steber officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A lunch will be served following the service in the church hall. |
