Vanda “Jean” Turner, age 64, of 415 South 4th Street, Apt. 113; Gladstone (Fairview Manor), died Sunday afternoon, February 20, 2005, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Jean was born July 20, 1940 the daughter of Clifford Van and Audalee (Hartwick) White. She was raised in her birth state of Oklahoma and attended the Hastings schools. Following school, Jean married Glenn Williams in Oklahoma where they made their home and raised their children. Jean worked for various employers over the years but mainly stayed home, as a housewife, to provide for her family. Jean continued to live in Oklahoma for the majority of her life until relocating to the Gladstone area where she has resided at the Fairview Manor for the past 3 years. Jean enjoyed reading, playing cards, going to bingo and collecting John Wayne and Elvis Presley memorabilia. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

1 Sister: Ann (Gary) Scott of Waurika, OK
2 Grandchildren: Michelle (Ivan) Hardwick of Rapid River, MI; Amber Rhea of Escanaba, MI
2 Great Grandchildren: Halie and Takoda
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding Jean in death are her parents, Clifford Van and Audalee White.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Vanda “Jean” Turner will follow visitation, at 3:00PM, with Rev. William Rafuse of the Rapid River Congregational Church officiating. Luncheon will be provided at the Fairview Manor in Gladstone. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Turner family with arrangements. |
