Lawrence Oliver “Larry” Morgan, age 63, of 1218 Superior Ave.; Gladstone, died Sunday evening, March 13th, 2005 at Iron Mountain Veterans Administration Hospital following a brief illness.

Larry was born February 28th, 1942 in Sandusky, Ohio to Lawrence and Esther (Butterick) Morgan and was raised in Toledo, Ohio. He was a 1959 graduate of the Woodward High School in Toledo and later entered military service with the United States Marine Corps in 1961. He continued to serve until his honorable discharge in 1965. Subsequently, Larry was employed for Gulf Oil Co. in Toledo for many years until relocating to the Manistique area where he owned and operated a Union “76” gas station for a period of time before moving to the Delta County area in 1977. Having always enjoyed sales work, Larry’s favorite occupation was as a used auto salesman. He was employed at “Budget Auto Sales” in Escanaba until change of ownership, when he went to work for the “Island Resort and Casino” pending his retirement.

In his leisure, Larry enjoyed fishing, golfing, and biking, but his work at the auto dealership and the casino was a great source of satisfaction to him.

In addition to his loving wife, the former Gwen Ann Overly Allsworth, whom he married in 2000, Larry Morgan’s survivors include:

1 Son- Mark (Jill Anderson) Morgan of Wells

2 Daughters- Julie (Gerry) Brancamp of Winsboro, TX; Christine (Randal) Boggs of Nickelsville, VA

1 Step-son, Kevin (Jennifer DuPont) Allsworth of Gladstone

1 Step-daughter, Melissa (John) Corwin of Gladstone

8 Siblings- Jerry (Carol) Morgan of Columbus, Ohio; Arlene Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Karen Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Sharon Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Denise Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Donna Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Kevin (Denise) Morgan of Toledo, Ohio; Terry (Jeanette) Morgan of Toledo, Ohio

9 Grandchildren, Ryan Krouth, Elizabeth Atnip, Kayla Boggs, Courtney Boggs, Shawn Launderville, Stephanie Launderville, Koy Corwin, Cassie Corwin, and Megan Allsworth

and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family of Lawrence O. “Larry” Morgan will receive friends on Wednesday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Military Rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. by the Delta County Veterans Council at the Skradski Funeral Home and services celebrating Larry’s life to follow with Michael Balenger officiating.
