Genevieve L. “Fee” Mosier, age 88, of 1401 North 23rd Street #58; Escanaba and former longtime Rapid River area resident, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at home surrounded by family.
Gen was born December 26, 1916 in Rapid River, the daughter of John and Jeanette (Thibault) Laundre and was raised in Rapid River. Except for 12 years in Ferndale, Michigan and the last 12 years in Escanaba, she has resided in Rapid River all her life.
Gen married Carl Joseph Mosier during the “Great Depression” and he preceded her in death May 31st, 1973.
Carl owned and operated “Mosier Bulldozing and Excavating” and she worked with him with the business for many years and she was also employed as a bartender at the “Dutch Mill” in North Delta County for a period of time.
In addition to being a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church of Rapid River, she was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Walter W. Cole Post #301 of Rapid River. Oil painting in her leisure and being an avid hunter were some of her favorite past-times. She is also remembered as receiving pleasure from joy-riding while watching for wildlife. Genevieve’s family was the center of her life at all times and she was always concerned about their wellbeing. Cooking for her family is one of the fondest memories the family has of her.
Gen’s family has the highest love, respect, and admiration for their mother and grandmother and they will always be devoted to her and her memory.

2 Daughters- Nancy (Ted) Ramsey of McKinney, TX; Sandy LaCosse of McKinney, TX
3 Sons- Lew (Marland) Mosier of Escanaba; Daniel (Sue) Mosier of Escanaba; Marvin Mosier of Madison Heights, MI
A half-sister, Mary Ellen Kane of Escanaba, a half-brother, John (Nancy) Laundre of Escanaba,
9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She also leaves to survive a special friend, Mickey Patty of Lower Michigan.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Carl, she was preceded in death two sisters, Vera Pineau and Evelyn Deneau.
The family of Genevieve Mosier will receive friends on Monday at St. Charles Church in Rapid River from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Monday at1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Church with Rev Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Mosier family.
