Darlene “Tubby” LaValley, age 65, of 415 South 4th Street (Fairview Manor), Gladstone, died Wednesday morning May 4, 2005 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Darlene was born April 17, 1940, in Gladstone, the daughter of Walter and Thelma (Froberg) Sr., who preceded her in death.  She lived most of her life in the Gladstone area and attended the Gladstone schools.  She married Glen LaValley in Idaho in October of 1963.  Glen preceded her in death on May 2, 1991.  In her earlier years, Darlene enjoyed crocheting. 

Survivors include: 

3 Brothers:  Walter (Glenda) Godfrey Jr. of Gladstone, MI; Wallace “Luke” (Diane) Godfrey of Gladstone, MI; Mark (Sandra) St. Cyr of Brooks, MN

4 Sisters:  Betty (Ben) Tubb of Centerville, TX; Cathy Godfrey of Marquette, MI; Sharon (Phil) Nadeau of Gladstone, MI; Michelle (David) Trottier of Rapid River, MI

Also surviving is Keith LaValley of Escanaba, MI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, Walter and Thelma, her husband Glen and 1 sister, Shirley St. Cyr, preceded Darlene in death.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Darlene LaValley will take place on Monday at 2:00PM at the New Horizon Church in Gladstone with Pastor Fred Coats officiating.  Committal will be in the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.  The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the LaValley family with arrangements.
