Bernhardt T. “Bernie” Frigard, age 75, of 510 1st Avenue South, Escanaba, MI died Monday morning June 20, 2005 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. Bernhardt was born May 23, 1930 on the family farm in Chatham the son of Edwin Franz and Agnes Sophia (Aho) Frigard. He was raised in Chatham and attended the Eben Public Schools. He later graduated from Escanaba High School. Bernie served in the U.S. Army and he was a self employed carpenter in the area. Prior to living at Harbor Tower in Escanaba he was a resident at Fairview Manor in Gladstone. His hobby’s included gardening and coin collecting.

2 Sons: Brian Kempainen of Sheboygan, WI; Brian (Peggy) Frigard of Eugene, Oregon
3 Daughters: Christine Frigard of Menominee, MI; Melinda (Tom Grant) Frigard of Escanaba; Brenda (Henry) Nantelle of Gladstone
1 Sister: Valerie Frigard of Gladstone, MI
11 Grandchildren: Matt, Karl, Nickolas, Jessica, Josh, Amanda, Craig, Andrew, Brianna, Natashia and Chelsea.
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Erickson in 1979 and 6 Brothers and 4 Sisters. 2 Grandchildren: Renee and Amber
Bernie’s family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Bernhardt T. Frigard will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Scarcelli officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Chatham.
