Pronase Goymerac

Pronase C. Goymerac, 91, of Escanaba, passed away June 12, 2005 at Soderman’s AFC where she had been a patient for the past two years.

Pronase was born in Green Bay, WI on February 21, 1914, the daughter of William and Elsie (Beno) DeKeyser.

She spent her early years in Wisconsin and graduated from Tigerton High School, Tigerton, WI. She held and undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, and a Master’s Degree from Northern Michigan University

Pronase was employed for twenty-eight years as an elementary school teacher, teacher in Perkins, Pine Ridge, Soo Hill and Webster Schools.

Pronny was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Delta County Historical Society, and State Employee Retirees Association.

She enjoyed watching birds, traveling, and taking classes at Bay de Noc Community College. She especially enjoyed her companionship and writing at her Bay Sages Class. Pronny’s pleasant personality, humor, and unconditional love touched numerous lives and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Pronase was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George, who passed away in 1986; two brothers, Harold and Gene DeKeyser, and one sister, Lillian (DeKeyser) Bergner.

2 Sisters-Marilyn Alex of Sheboygan, WI; Ida Mae Zimmerman of Tucson, AZ

2 Brothers-Don (Effie) DeKeyser of Gladstone, MI; William (Kynng Hiekin “Sunny”) DeKeyser of Las Vegas, NV

Sister-in-law; Joan DeKeyser of Rapid River, MI

Brother-in-law; Joe Bergner of Green Bay, WI

Grandchildren-Mark (Therese) Goymerac, Lynne (Girard) Krueger, Paul (Tina) Goymerac; Patty (Rob) Harrill, Todd (Christy) Goymerac, Brett (Addie) Goymerac; Nathan Goymerac, Nick Goymerac, Paul Goymerac, Beth Goymerac; Haily Goymerac,

and 12 great-grandchildren

The family of Pronase C. Goymerac will receive friends on Wednesday at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba from 2:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the church parish hall. Internment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery; Escanaba. The family respectfully requests memorials be directed to the Bay de Noc College Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Homes who are assisting the Goymerac family.
