James Richard “Jim” Kilok, age 75, of 1307 North 18th Street; Escanaba and former Rock resident, died Tuesday, June 28th, 2005 at home surrounded by loving family.
Jim was born November 7th, 1929 in Smock, Pennsylvania, the son of Anthony and Margaret (Dubrawsky) Kilok and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating high school in Ohio, Jim entered military service with the US Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he resided in the Livonia , Michigan area for nearly 45 years and previous to his retirement, he was last employed as a commercial carpenter for 30 years. Jim married the former Mary G. Anderson November 21st, 1974 in South Lyon, Michigan and they lived in the Rock area prior to moving to Escanaba.
Jim Kilok was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Gladstone and the Rock American Legion and past member and president of the Rock Lions Club. He also was a member of the Local 118 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and was known as an avid Detroit Lions and Ohio Buck-eye fan. Most importantly, however, spending time with family and grandchildren was of paramount importance to him.

4 Daughters- Lorrie (Rick) Webb of Parma Heights, OH; Pam (Kevin) O’Toole of Parma Heights, OH; Cindy (Ron) Schuerger of North Royalton, OH; Katherine Kilok of Escanaba, MI
2 Sisters- Dorothy and Shirley, both of Nevada
10 Grandchildren-Derek, Justin, and Bryan Webb of Parma Heights-, OH; Tara and Erin O’Toole of Parma Heights, OH; Ryan and Nicole Schuerger of North Royalton, OH; Laura, Grace, and Dylan Francoeur of Sand Creek, MI
Several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
The family of James R. “Jim” Kilok will receive friends on Saturday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Services celebrating his life will follow on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Rayford Ray officiating. Luncheon will be offered after services. Private burial will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery; Wells.
