Barbara Louise Seymour, 81, formerly of Schaffer, Escanaba and Gladstone, Michigan passed away on Sunday February 13, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her daughter Jane of San Antonio, Texas and her son David of Charlotte were at her side.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Roy in April of 1999. She was born in South Wales where she became a druggist assistant until she married Roy Seymour on June 11, 1945 and relocated to Schaffer. She was involved in politics, Orpheus Chorus, The Sacred Heart Church Choir and also sang at numerous funerals and weddings in the area. Barbara was an avid reader, loved to garden, was an accomplished seamstress and knitted countless sweaters and afghans. She also
became involved in fashion and bridal retail. She returned home to South Wales numerous times and
traveled the U.S. in her senior years with Roy.
Barbara Louise Seymour is survived by her:
Daughter Jane Seymour Moreau and Jane’s fiancé Royce Goddard
Son David Seymour and his wife Mary Jo (Meinz)
Six grandchildren: Theresa, Christopher, Jason, Katherine, Michael, and Daniel.
Barbara was also the Great Grandmother of Grant and Hailey.
Her sister-in-laws Charlotte Tousignant and Theresa Adams reside in Gladstone and Gladys Seymour resides in Swartz Creek, Michigan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews in the U.S. as well as in Wales.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday for Saturday June 11, 2005 from 12:30 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Barbara L. Seymour will follow at 1:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Arnold Grambow of All Saints Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Schaffer Cemetery.
