Raymond Roy “Tweedy Bird” Tweedale, Sr., age 62, of E2937 M Hwy 67 (Box 76) Trenary, died Saturday, June 11th, 2005, at the Lake Superior Hospice Unit of Marquette General Hospital.
Ray was born September 30th, 1942 in Chatham, MI, the son of Lee and Aina (Koski) Tweedale and was raised in the Chatham area of the Upper Peninsula. After graduating high school, Ray moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin and later owned and operated a taxi-cab company in Waukegan, Ill. He also had resided in Maribel, Wisconsin for many years while he was a truck driver, traveling all over the United States. After relocating to Munising, MI for ten years, he subsequently moved to Trenary where he has lived for the last ten years.
Ray enjoyed collecting Cadillac memorabilia and has owned classic Cadillac autos through the years. In addition, he enjoyed wood-working and cooking, and his family especially remembers his delicious fudge candies and lasagna dishes. Ray was always musically inclined and his tastes in composition ranged from “county and western” to “classical” music.

The family of Raymond R. “Tweedy Bird” Tweedale, Sr. will receive friends on Tuesday at the Limestone Baptist Church in Limestone from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services celebrating Ray’s life will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the Limestone Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Jolls officiating. Burial will be in the Rock River Cemetery; Chatham. The Tweedale family respectfully requests memorials be directed to “Lake Superior Hospice” of Marquette and they may be sent directly to the family. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the family.
