Mae Florence Delvaux, age 83, former longtime Flat Rock area resident died Friday, July 8, 2005, at the Country Acres Adult Foster Care Facility in Gladstone where she was currently residing.
Mae was born June 29th, 1922, in Cornell, the daughter of Mose LaCarte and the former Viola Couillard and was raised in the Cornell area.
After her marriage to Jule J. Delvaux in 1939, she and her husband lived in Cornell for a brief period before relocating to Flat Rock where they resided most of their lives. Jule preceded her in death in 1972.
Mae was a former long-time member of Holy Family Church in Flat Rock and was a former member of St. Anne Church in Escanaba when she lived in Escanaba for an interval of time. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning and her family was always the primary focus of her endeavors
Mae F. Delvaux’s survivors include:
2 Daughters-Shirley (Russell) Dansbury of Joliet, Ill.; Susan (George) Rusch of Escanaba
1 Brother- Ernest LaCarte of Escanaba
3 Sisters- Anna Skradski of Escanaba; Lina Bittner of California; Millie (George) Young of Gladstone
2 Grandchildren- Russell A. (Anna) Danbury of Joliet, Ill.; Darlene (Tracy) Andrus of Sheboygan, WI
and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Jule, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Delvaux; three brothers; Edward, Lawrence, and Albert LaCarte; one sister, Eva Gabrielson; and by a great-grandson, Raymond Danbury.
The family of Mae F. Delvaux will receive friends on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Service celebrating Mae’s life will follow on Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Mike Steiber officiating. Burial will be in the Escanaba Township Cemetery; Flat Rock. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Delvaux family.
