Edwin “Bud” Englund, age 92, of 1014 Minnesota Avenue, Gladstone, died Sunday evening July 10, 2005 at the Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.
Bud was born March 8, 1913, in Rock, the son of Nels and Emma (Smith) Englund. He was raised in Rock and attended the Rock schools. In following years to come, Bud went to work for Alger Delta Co-op Electric Company as a journeyman lineman before being drafted in the United States Army where he served during the WWII era. Following his years in the Army, he returned to the Gladstone area resuming his position at Alger Delta Co-op, eventually becoming a supervisor. Bud worked for 39 years at Alger Delta before retiring in 1976. Bud was married to the former Wanda Tufnell for 48 years. Wanda preceded him in death on April 24, 1990. In December of 1990, Bud married the former Linda (Zitzmann) Amundson in Bark River and the couple made their home in Gladstone before Bud’s health began to decline. Following his retirement, Bud spent many hours of his time at his farm in Rock, trimming Christmas trees, feeding deer and keeping the land. He enjoyed bowling for various teams in Gladstone and he belonged to the Delta County Swedish club for many years. Bud was also a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

1 Daughter: Christine (Dennis) Johnson of Gladstone, MI
1 Sister: Ann Rajala of Escanaba, MI
Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

1 Half Brother: Herb Westland
2 Sisters: Carrie and Mae Englund
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Edwin “Bud” Englund will follow visitation, at 2:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home, with Pastor Brad Cochrane and Rev. William Baker officiating. Luncheon will follow funeral services at the First Lutheran Church fellowship hall. Committal will be on Monday, at 10:00AM, at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
