Paul Frizzell

Died July 21, 2005

Paul David “Friz” Frizzell, age 42. of 904 15th Road; Bark River, died Thursday, July 21st, 2005 at home following a two year illness. Paul was born April 4th, 1963 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba, the son of David and Carol (Carlson) Frizzell and was raised in the Rapid River area and was a graduate of the Rapid River High School. “Friz was a former member of the Calvary Lutheran Church of Rapid River.
He entered military service in 1982 with the US Army, stationed mostly in Germany, and after his honorable discharge in 1986, he returned to Delta County.
“Friz” was engaged in construction for a number of years, and also worked at the Sav-Mor IGA Foodliner in Escanaba for a period of time. He was most recently employed for the last 6 years for the Chip-In Island Resort and Casino as a crap-dealer.
In his leisure, Paul enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, hunting, and playing cards, particularly, poker and “Hearts”. His daughters and grandsons, however, were a special focus of his life and his family remembers him as a quietly strong and independent individual and his family will miss him greatly.

1 half-brother, Michael (Jennifer) Frizzell of Gladstone
1 Step-sister, Anne Frizzell of Chicago
2 special grandchildren, Mathew and Logan Waller, of Escanaba
his mother-in-law, Mary Arnold, of Onaway, MI
and nieces and nephews.  

Paul was preceded in death by his step-father, Ernest “Junior” Miron, Jr., his grandmother, Amelia Carlson, and by his father-in-law, Berten Arnold, Sr.

The family of Paul “Friz” Frizzell will receive friends on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 12 Noon to 2:00 p.m. EDT. Services celebrating Paul’s life will follow on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Gauger of the Calvary Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery immediately following services. Military Rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Rapid River American Legion Walter W. Cole Post #301. Luncheon will follow the cemetery committal services.

“Friz’s” family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to all his co-workers at the Chip- In Casino for their caring support during his illness. Their kindnesses will never be forgotten.
