Myrna Jeanne Kreiger, 74, of 15 Tipperary Dr., died July 19, 2005, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers Mich. after a 17-month battle with cancer.
Myrna was born March 18, 1931 in Bonaparte, Iowa. the third of five daughters to George L. and Dorothy I. (Warner) Simmons. Myrna grew up in the Bonaparte, Iowa area where she graduated from high school with the class of 1949. Following graduation from high school she attended Iowa State University, graduating with a degree in Dietetics.
On September 13, 1952, she married Robert C. Morrow and lived for many years in Sturgis, Michigan where they bought and ran a farm on Big Hill road. They raised three children, imparting a love of the outdoors, nature and music to them. Her children remember her tender care with farm livestock and pets. Myrna had names for each and every animal including over 100 head of cattle. Myrna's compassion toward all creatures became her life-defining characteristic.
Robert proceeded her in death on July 16, 1993. She married Everett Kreiger on September 5, 1980. They lived in New Castle Colo., until moving to Gladstone in 2001 to retire near family.
Myrna worked as a Dietician in various hospitals in Iowa, Michigan and Colorado where she received countless accolades and awards for her attention to the wholesome meals and attention provided to her residents who also became her friends. She served on many hospital safety committees and also as a representative for the Colorado State employee council.
Myrna was proud of her flower gardens and retained a perfect green thumb while caring for roses and perennials. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her husband and their special pets, dogs, Sadie and Coleman. In addition she enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren and was always working on special projects with them. Her other hobbies included fishing, reading, traveling and cooking.
She was preceded in death by both parents.

Seven grandchildren: four sisters, Mary Ellen (Kenneth) Kaness, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Elizabeth Calvert, Elgin, Ill: Peggy (Glen) Heald, Auxvasse, Mo.; Francis (Al) Jolliffe, Waukee, Iowa:
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 26, from 4 to 6 PM at Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Gladstone, services following with Rev Joanne Bartelt officiating. Burial will be at a latter date with services in Bonaparte, Iowa.
