Joanne F. Roberts 69 of 304 South 18th Street Escanaba died on Sunday evening July 24, 2005 at the Bishop Noa Home following a lenthly illness.

She was born March 13,1936 in Hermansville, Michigan the daughter of Oscar and Frances (Loritz) Johnson and was married to Wilfred J. Roberts Jr. August 20,1955. He preceded her in death February 11,2002. Joanne was in the last graduating class at St.Joseph High School in 1954 and had worked as a bookkeeper for Benificial Finance, Gary’s South Side and The Kobasic Furniture Co.. Her hobbies included crafts, gardening, sewing, cooking, canning and baking. She had a great love of nature and enjoyed her pet bird “Wyatt” and her fish tank. Joanne was also a great Green Bay Packer Fan and a Nascar Fan. In her latter years she kept busy doing “Seek and Find” , playing Bingo and going to the Casino weekly.

She will be greatly missed by her:

Son Dan (Susan) Roberts of Escanaba.

3 Daughters: Cathy (Tom) Demars, Patty (Steve) Menard, Jean Roberts all of Escanaba

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 47 years Wilfred, 1 Sister: “Sis” Mary Sucharski and 1 Brother: Ralph Johnson

There will be no public visitation.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Joanne F. Roberts will be held on Saturday July 30. 2005 at St. Joseph and St.Patrick Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Richard Schaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Rest Cemetery. A lunch will be served following the burial in the Church Hall.
