Betty L. Doneau “Betty Boop”, age 72, of Gladstone and former Perkins area resident, died Tuesday afternoon August 2, 2005, at the Christian Park Health Care Facility in Escanaba.
Betty was born December 31, 1932, in Escanaba, the daughter of Albert and Alena (Alko) Demeuse. She was raised in Perkins and attended the Perkins schools. Following school, Betty went to work at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. On June 6, 1953, Betty married Henry Doneau and together the couple made their home and raised their family in the Perkins area. Henry preceded Betty in death on July 2, 2000. Betty eventually relocated to the Gladstone area and she remained in Gladstone until her health began to fail in recent years. Betty enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.

4 Daughters: Donna (David) Larson of Gladstone, Mi
Amy (Jeff) Ebbesen of Gladstone, Mi
Elizabeth (Wayne) Cooper of Perkins, Mi
Debbie (Tom) Trudell of Gladstone, Mi
1 Brother: Daniel (Sharon) Demeuse of Escanaba, Mi
3 Sisters: Janie Nickell of Escanaba, Mi
Elaine (Art) LaMarche of Escanaba, Mi
Shirley (Bob) Gardner of Escanaba, Mi
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Albert and Alena, and her husband Henry, Betty was preceded in death by:

1 Sister: Velma Dubord
A private funeral service will be held at the Skradski Funeral Home, in Gladstone, at the convenience of the Doneau family. Committal will be at the Rapid River Cemetery in Rapid River. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Doneau family with arrangements.
