Everett Ferrier

Everett L. Ferrier, age 94, of 8144 Garth Point Lane, Rapid River died Thursday evening August 25, 2005 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba where he was a resident. Everett was born March 3, 1911 in North Branch, Michigan the son of Isaac and Nina (Lindsay) Ferrier and he was raised in Imlay City, Michigan. Everett was employed for 22 years as the Head Custodian at the Garden City High School in Garden City. Following his retirement in 1973 he moved to Rapid River. Everett’s hobbies included hunting and fishing. Survivors include:

His wife: Florence R. (Nightingale) Ferrier who he married on August 6, 1968.

1 Son: Donald (Ann) Ferrier of Garden City, MI

3 Daughters: Shirley (Donald) Byers of Dearborn Heights, MI; Joyce (Charles) Sheils of Mulberry, FL; Phyllis (Kenneth) Wardell of Garden City, MI

1 Step Son: Larry (Rebecca) Gilmore of Flint, MI

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by:

1st wife: Florence A. Ferrier on July 3, 1966

2 Sisters: Beatrice and Dorothy Mitchell

2 Brothers: Careld and Gerald Ferrier

Everett’s family will receive friends on Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Everett L. Ferrier will follow at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the John N. Santeiu and Son Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at the Cadillac Memorial West Cemetery in Westland, MI.
