June B. Knutsen, age 96, of 417 South 10th Street, Gladstone died Monday evening August 15, 2005 at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.

June was born June 26, 1909 in Spalding, MI the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Steinbarth) Beatson. After leaving Spalding she attended Northern Michigan Normal in Marquette and graduated in 1930 from the Ferris Institute in Big Rapids. She worked at the Iron River National Bank and the Farm Security Administration. On June 15, 1942 in Spalding she married Norman Knutsen and together they owned and operated the Gladstone Baking Company in Gladstone for over 30 years. She was an active member of All Saints Church in Gladstone, Daughters of Isabella, Minister’s of Praise, also the Gladstone Childs Welfare Club and Coterie. She also belonged to the Gladstone Golf and Yacht Club.

Son and daughter-in-law: Jay and Ann Knutsen of Ann Arbor, MI

2 Grandchildren: Michael (Melissa) Knutsen of Plymouth, MI; Matthew Knutsen of Hoboken, N.J.

1 Great Grandson: Noah Parker Knutsen of Ann Arbor, MI

June’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 6:45 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. The Rosary will be recited at 6:45 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Church in Gladstone with Rev. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will follow at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. Memorial contributions may be directed to All Saints Church or to the Pinecrest Medical Care Center, envelopes will be available at the Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes.
