Harold Reese

Harold R. “Kayo” Reese, age 80, of 2722 South Hill Road, #26; Gladstone, died peacefully at home Tuesday morning, August 9th, 2005.

“Kayo” was born January 19th, 1925 in Kingsford, MI, the son of Louis and Germaine (Schram) Reese and was raised in Kingsford. After attending the Kingsford School System, he entered military service with the US Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific Theater where he received numerous awards and citations.

“Kayo” returned to civilian life in Cudahy, Wisconsin where he was employed for Ladish Corporation as a welder for many years. He retired from Ladish at age 62 and has resided in the Gladstone area for the last 13 years.

“Kayo” was a member of All Saints Church in Gladstone and in his leisure, he enjoyed playing golf and watching the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.  Most importantly, however, he loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

Harold “Kayo” Reese’s survivors include:

1 Son- Louis (Kathie) Reese of Waukesha, WI

2 Daughters- Deb (Scott) Davis of Egg Harbor, WI; Rosanne (Edward) Poulos of Gross Ile, MI

1 Brother- James (Peggy) Reese of Gladstone, MI

2 Sisters-Mitzi (Stan) Wolack of Tennessee; Jean Poncetti of Illinois

7 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews

In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gloria Priante, in 1990. He was also preceded in death by three brothers; Louis, “Chuck”, and “Dick”; and by a sister, “Sis”.

The family of “Kayo” Reese will receive friends on Friday, August 12th at All Saints Church in Gladstone from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday at 12:00 Noon at All Saints Church with Rev. Fr. Arnold Grambow officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the church parish hall. “Kayo’s” family respectfully requests memorials be directed to the OSF Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church or the Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County who are assisting the Reese family.
