Francis “Bud” Krout, age 86, of 1418 Minneapolis Avenue, Gladstone, currently residing at the Woodside Manor in Green Bay, WI, died early Friday morning September 30, 2005 at his residence in Green Bay.
Francis was born April 15, 1919, in Gladstone, the son of Cleve and Isabel (Pecore) Krout. He was raised in Gladstone and attended and graduated from the Gladstone High School. Following school, Francis entered the United States Army where he was stationed in Pearl Harbor in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Following his years in the military, Francis worked for the CCC’s (Civilian Conservation Corp.), which was originally founded to help the public with employment opportunities due to the recoil of the Great Depression. In 1954, Francis married the former Judith White, at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone, and together the couple made their home and raised their family in the Gladstone area. Francis worked his entire life for the Soo Line Railroad eventually retiring in the mid 1980’s. Francis remained in Gladstone until his health began to fail, at which time; he relocated to Green Bay, residing at the Woodside Manor. Francis was a longtime member of the Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post # 71, he belonged to the Gladstone Yacht Club and he played on 2 separate smear card playing leagues in Gladstone. He loved spending time with his only granddaughter, Megan and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

3 Sons: Dan (James Tunstall) Krout of Grensboro, N.C.; Dave (Linda) Krout of Green Bay, WI; Dick (Tanya) Krout of Neenah, WI
1 Granddaughter: Megan Krout of Green Bay, WI
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Cleve and Isabel and his wife Judith, Francis was preceded in death by: 1 Son: Donald Krout, 1 Sister: Virginia and 3 Brothers: Jack, Cleve Jr. and Oakley
Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. The Gladstone American Legion August Mattson Post #71 will conduct military rites, following visitation, at 12:40PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Francis Krout will follow military rites, at 1:00PM, at the Skradski Funeral Home, with Fr. Arnold Grambow of All Saints Catholic Church officiating.
