Margaret Shampo
Resided in Gladstone, MI
Died October 11, 2005

Margartet J. Shampo, age 93, of 707 Michigan Avenue; Gladstone, died Tuesday, October 11th, 2005, at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba where she was a patient for one week.
Margaret was born June 7th, 1912 in Escanaba, the daughter of August and Rachel Cretens and was a lifelong Gladstone resident.

She married Francis J. Shampo in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1979.

Margaret was a Foster Grandparent for many years and is fondly remembered by numerous children and staff of the Gladstone School System. In her leisure, she enjoyed vegetable gardening, baking, and going to camp where she planted many trees through the years. In earlier times, she was known to have taken pleasure in snowmobiling and snow-shoeing.  Margaret was always “young at heart” and considered age a “state of mind” and never considered herself as old. She was an example to others as to staying active and alert.

Her family has the fondest memories of her as a devoted loving mother, and grand-mother, and her shining personality will never be forgotten by her family and friends.
Margaret was also a member of All Saints Church of Gladstone.
