Ina Lundberg

Ina Sophia Lundberg, age 90, of 9203 25.75 Lane, Rapid River, MI died November 24, 2005 Thanksgiving morning at home.

Ina was born May 10, 1915 in Negaunee, the daughter of William and Sophia (Ahlson) Siitar and she was raised in Negaunee and Stonington. She attended school in Stonington and graduated from Gladstone High School in 1972. On December 31, 1938 she married Henry Lundberg at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone. Ina was employed at Magnusson’s Store, Bar-B-Q Restaurant, Rapid River Gamble Store, Buchman’s Store and was the Ensign Township Treasurer for 23 years. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who shared her skills, stories and love.

Ina was very active in the community. She was a 4-H Leader, Foster Grandmother, Housing Commission Board Member, Senior Citizen’s, Order of Eastern Star and Grand Marshal of the Rapid River Memorial Day in 2003. Ina was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was Sunday School Superintendant, she was in choir, Bible Study, Serving Groups, LCW, ELCA Women’s Group and her beloved quilting groups. She loved traveling, going to her lake property, oil painting, knitting, serving, visiting with family and friends and baby sitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren who fondly called her Mammy.

Ina is survived by her daughter Joanne (Wayne) Christoff, granddaughter Leanne (Jim) Bedgood, grandson Mark (Bridget) Christoff, great granddaughters Breanne Bedgood and Addie Christoff, brother William (Eleanor) Siitar, sister-in-laws Kay (Arnold) Siitar and Bernice (Floyd) Lundberg, nieces Chris (Larry) Lundin, Ruth (Dan) West and nephew Herb (Eleanor) Soderlund.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry, brother Arnold and sister Viola.

Friends may call at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rapid River between 2:30 P.M. and 5:30 P.M. on Sunday November 27, 2005. Order of Eastern Star services will follow at 5:30 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Stephen Gauger officiating. A lunch will follow in the church hall immediately following the service. Burial will be in Rapid River Cemetery.
