Elizabeth “Betty” Decker Morin, age 82, of Escanaba, died Wednesday, November 16th, 2005, at the home of her son, Michael Decker, following a brief illness.
Betty was born January 2nd, 1923, in Southgate, California, the daughter of Roy and Alice (Lemerand) Shedore and was raised in California and spent her summers in Powers, Michigan, on the Lemerand family farm.
She later met and married Joe Decker from Powers who currently lives in Escanaba.
Additionally, Betty had lived in Florida for 14 years with her late husband, Keith Morin, and returned to Delta County ten years ago.
She was employed at “Decker Auto Sales” in Escanaba for many years with her husband, Joe, and later for her son, Mike. In her leisure, Betty hand many enjoyable past-times including gaming at casinos, playing “Bingo”, and cards, shooting pool, and shopping. However, her favorite interest was golfing. In addition, Betty was a member of the Escanaba Elk’s and VFW Auxiliaries. She was also a long-time member of St. Anne Church of Escanaba. Her family remembers her as a very devoted and loving mother, and their memories of their childhoods are forever cherished by them.

3 Daughters: Sandra (Tom) Oliver of the Danforth area; Terry (Ron Vanderlinden) Decker of Gladstone; Renee (Joel) Erickson of Escanaba
Grandchildren: Tracy; Tom; Philip; Paul; Travis; Jodi; Michele; Jennifer; Christina; Jamie; Jeffrey; Jeremy
Great-grandchildren: Camry; Casey; Philip; Payten; Zoie; Hailey; Ahron; Andrew; Kyle; Marissa; Olivia
Niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Shedore.
Elizabeth “Betty” Decker Morin’s family will receive friends on Saturday at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anne Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Michael Steber officiating. Luncheon will follow services in the St. Anne Parish Hall. Entombment will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery; Wells.
