Pastor Gerold D. Brady, age 91, of 2600 South Hill Road, Gladstone, MI died Friday morning December 16, 2005 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Gerold was born January 29, 1914 in Peru, Indiana the son of Harry and Esther (Weisenberger) Brady. He served in the C.C.C.’s (Civilian Conservation Corp.) before moving to Harrison, MI. where he worked as a lifeguard for the Wilson State Park in Harrison. While in Harrison he met and married the former Pearl J. Clark on June 25, 1939. Together the couple made their home in the Harrison area where Gerold gained employment for Frost Township, driving school bus. At that time, Gerold began his ministry to the community and surrounding areas of Harrison. In 1965, Gerold and Pearl moved to Gladstone and Gerold continued his ministry career, full time, at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church, located in Gladstone. He ministered at Bethel until 1977 at which time, Gerold became the interim pastor at many churches around the Delta County area and was pastor of the Watson Bible Chapel for several years. In Gerold’s later years, he began a specialized ministry throughout the Upper Peninsula, pastoral and counseling care to prison inmates, which he always referred to as his prison ministry calling. He continued ministering to inmates throughout the U.P. until his death. He was known as a kind, generous and compassionate man and would be willing to assist anyone with any of their spiritual needs.
Gerold was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone and his hobbies included fishing, partridge hunting and doing household projects.

6 Grandchildren
10 Great Grandchildren

Brother: Edgar in 2005
Pastor Brady’s family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Pastor Gerold Brady will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Stephen Patrick officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrison.
