Today Our Lord has taken our Mother Leila E. Moser home where she is at peace. She was a strong believer of her Catholic faith and said her rosary daily. Leila was born January 9, 1915 in St. Jacques. She was the daughter of Omer and Florestine (Sabourin) Groleau. She was the second child of a family of sixteen children and was raised in St. Jacques
On August June 25, 1939 Leila married Walter Moser of Rapid River at St. Lawrence Church, St. Jacques. They made their home north of Rapid River where they raised there family and farmed for many years. Her husband Walter passed away on September 16, 1993.
Leila had worked as a cook for the Rapid River Schools and owned and operated the Moser Store and Gas Station. She was a member of St Charles Borremeo Catholic Church and was a choir member for many years. She was also a member of the Rapid River American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and bowling.
Leila’s children are two son’s, Allen who died on April 3, 2003, and his surviving wife Carole Moser. Clifton (Gail) Moser, two daughters, Darlene Sauve and (Special Friend Teddy Morrison) and Brenda (John) Patana all from Rapid River. Ten grandchildren, Mark (Cathy) Sauve, Mike (Carol) Sauve, Brent (Sandy) Sauve, Candace (Scott) Nieuwenkamp of Rapid River, Craig (Julie) Moser of Waukesha, WI, Crystal (Randy) Rutta of Oconomowoc, WI, Roxanne (Eric) Soderstrom, Shayne. (Friend Lynn) Moser, Sr. of Rapid River, Audra (Mark) Spielman of Nelson BC, Beth (Scott) Larson of Rock. Great grandchildren, Jessica and Blair Sauve, Chelsea and Lindsea Nieuwenkamp, Natalie and Nicole Moser, Ryan, Rachel and Shaelyn Rutta, Shayne Moser, Jr. and Kade Soderstrom, Lucas and Maxwell Spielman, Gunnar and Ahna Larson and step-grandsons Richard (Shelly) Kuehl and Casey (Barbara) Kuehl.
Surviving are:
Leila’s brothers: Rosario (Donela) Groleau, Gerald Groleau, Leo (Meryl) Groleau, Gary (Sandy) Groleau and Wade (Marlene) Groleau.
Sisters: Rita LaBumbard, Rosalyn Plas and Anita (Edward) Lamberg

In addition to her parents Omer and Florestine Groleau, husband Walter Moser, son Allen Moser and son-in-law Lawrence “Buzz” Sauve, Leila was preceded in death by the following family members. Brothers and spouses: Rudolph and Katherine Groleau, Edward and Jereta Groleau, Emil and Eldora Groleau. Sisters and spouses: Irene and Fred Clement, Loretta and Al Pomeroy, and two baby sisters who died at birth. Sister-in-laws: Myrtle Groleau, Inez Groleau and Marion Groleau. Brother-in-laws: Pete LaBumbard and Leo Plas.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
The Rapid River American Legion Auxiliary will conduct services at 5:00 P.M. Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Leila Moser will be held at St. Charles Borremeo Church in Rapid River at 6:00 P.M. with Leila’s nephew Deacon Rodney Groleau and Father Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Music will be provided by the St. Charles Borremeo choir and her nephews and niece who will assist with guitars and singing; Deacon Rodney Groleau, Warren Groleau, Herb Pomeroy, Scott Groleau and Kara Segerstrom.
Luncheon will follow at the church parish hall. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. Pall bearers for their grandmother will be, Mark, Mike and Brent Sauve, Craig Moser, Shayne Moser, Sr and Scott Larson.
