Thomas “Ollie” Oliver, age 57, of 4812 18th Road, Escanaba, MI (Soo Hill) died Tuesday evening December 6, 2005 at his home in Soo Hill, surrounded by his family.
Thomas was born October 8, 1948 in Escanaba the son of Robert Thomas and Rachel (Ackerman) Oliver. He was raised in Escanaba and was a graduate of Escanaba High School. Tom married the former Sandra Decker on June 28, 1969 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Escanaba. They made their residence in Soo Hill where they raised their family. Tom worked for Harnischfeger
Corporation for 17 years.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing baseball, hockey and softball. Tom was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Sandra, survivors include:

2 Sisters: Roberta Fournier of Escanaba, Pam (Butch) Vizneau of Escanaba
Father-in-law: Joseph Decker of Escanaba
2 Sister-in-laws: Terry (Ron) Decker of Gladstone; Renee (Joel) Erickson of Escanaba
1 Brother-in-law: Michael (Kathy) Decker of Loretto, MI
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins
In addition to his father Robert, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Thomas Oliver and his mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Decker.
Tom’s family will receive friends on Friday from 3:00 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Thomas “Ollie” Oliver will follow at 5:15 P.M. at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Michael Steber of St. Anne Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
