Jennie Christine (Jenshak) Sorenson, age 93, of the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, died Sunday December 25, 2005, at the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, in Powers, where she has resided for the past 5 in a half years.
Jennie was born December 31, 1911, in Green Bay, the daughter of Norwegian immigrants, Hartwig and Henrietta (Jager) Hansen. Jennie attended and graduated from the West High High School in Green Bay. Jennie lived in Ford River and Green Bay before eventually moving back to the Escanaba area where she resided at the Harbor Tower until her health began to decrease, at which time, Jennie moved to the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility, in Powers, where she had resided for the remainder of her life. Jennie primarily worked as a homemaker throughout her life, making her home and caring for her family. She was also employed for Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, in the housekeeping department, and for the House of Ludington in Escanaba. In her spare time, Jennie enjoyed bowling and stitch work of many kinds. She took great pride in flowers and always had many houseplants in her home.

Bob (Merna) Jenshak of Ford River, MI
David (Barbara) Jenshak of Caro, MI
1 Daughter in Law: Millie Jenshak
She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins
In addition to her parents, Hartwig and Henrietta, Jennie was preceded in death by: Her husbands, Howard Jenshak and Darrell Sorenson.
3 Infant Children: Ronald, Terry and Janet
2 Sons: Roger and Donald
1 Granddaughter: Lori Marie
1 Great Grandson: Jason Jenshak
Jennie’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jennie (Jenshak) Sorenson will follow visitation, at 3:00PM, with Rev. Peter Andersen, of Christ the King Church and Bethany Lutheran Church, officiating. Luncheon will follow at the Bethany Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Committal will be held in the Spring at the West Ford River Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Jennie’s name may be directed to the Pinecrest Medical Care Facility. Envelopes will be available at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home.
