Edward “Moose” Bendix, Jr., age 73, of 870 Hwy M-35, Bark River Township, died Wednesday, January 11th, 2006 at home following a brief illness.
He was born May 28th, 1932 in Chicago, the son of Edward Bendix, Sr. and the former Harriet Deja and was raised in Oak Park and Lombard, Ill. and attended school there.
“Moose” served his country with the U.S. Air Force as a mechanic in the Pacific arena and later was employed, as a number of his family members were over time, for the Chicago Tribune as a mailer.
Having lived both in Illinois and at his property on Lake Michigan for a number of years, he has permanently resided at his lake-side home for many years. Edward always enjoyed the outdoors and boating and fishing were two of his most favorite past-times.
Edward Bendix survivors include: One sister-Sharon (Anthony) Marozza of Villa Park, IL and by two Nieces, Cheryl and Debra
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family of Edward “Moose” Bendix, Jr. will receive friends on Thursday at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Service celebrating his life will follow on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery; Wells.
