Anne C. LaRose, age 70, of 54 Maple, White Pine, MI and currently residing in Gladstone, died Saturday February 4, 2006 at her daughter’s home in Gladstone following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Anne was born October 6, 1935, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert W. and Dorothy J. (Larrabee) Moore. She was raised and attended school in Chicago until the 8th grade, at which time, Anne and her family relocated to Phillips, WI where she attended the Phillips High School, graduating in 1953. On December 26, 1953, Anne married Vernard D. LaRose at the St. John Lutheran Church, in Phillips. Together the couple resided in the Phillips area where they made their home and began their family. In 1955, Ann and Vernard moved to the Wakefield, MI area and resided there until 1985 before moving to Iron River and eventually retiring to White Pine, MI in 1988. Anne remained in White Pine until her health began to fail, finally moving to Gladstone to be closer to her family. Anne had a deep passion for her craftwork. She enjoyed fishing, camping, writing stories and reading books. Throughout her life, Anne served as a 4-H leader and was a past den mother in Wakefield. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

1 Son: Duaine “Butch” (Pam) LaRose of Springvale, Maine
4 Daughters: Diane Stapleton of Woodruff, WI; Julie (Bill) Anderson of Firebaugh, CA; Elizabeth “Betsy” (John) Sullivan of Wausau, WI; Nancy (Dan) Wall of Gladstone, MI
3 Sisters: Phylis (Jerry) Allard of Kenosha, WI; Roberta (John) St. Denis of Appleton, WI; Linda “Cricket” (Dick) Detloff of Marenisco, MI
Survivors also include, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and friend Carole Stein of Ramsay, MI in addition to many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her parents, Robert and Dorothy, her In-laws and 2 sisters, Joy Diane and Betty, preceded Anne in death.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00PM to 8:00PM C.S.T. at the Lakeside Memorial Chapel in Wakefield, MI. Ladies American Legion Auxiliary rites will be held on Thursday, at 10:00AM C.S.T., by the White Pine American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #462 in accompaniment with the Wakefield American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #11 at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Anne C. LaRose will follow auxiliary rites, at 11:00AM C.S.T., at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Wakefield with Pastor Joyce M. Heintz officiating.
