Lawrence Gardner

Died February 14, 2006

Lawrence Gardner, age 98, former Delta County resident, died Tuesday, February 14th, 2006, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI.

Lawrence was born March 19th, 1907 in Escanaba, the son of Fred and Exilda (Gilbeault) Gardner.

He married the former Edith Peters and he preceded her in death.

In his early working years, Lawrence was employed for Oliver DeShambo for his logging operation in Arnold, MI. and he was later employed for Mead Paper Co. in Escanaba for 25 years until his retirement in 1975.

Lawrence Gardner’s survivors include one sister, Irene DeShambo, of Gladstone, one grandson, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Edith, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorraine Hansen; brothers, John Joe, Fred, Art, Buck, and Jerry; and by sisters,  Delima, Alice, Mabel and Rose.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating.
