Rosalie E. King, age 73, of 4850 Co. 416 20th Road, Gladstone (Escanaba Township), died Tuesday February 14, 2006, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Rosalie was born, January 22, 1933, in Escanaba, the daughter of Alex and Amanda (Demarse) Derusha. She was raised in Escanaba and attended the St. Anne Catholic Schools. On September 1, 1951, Rosalie married Francis “Curly” King at the St. Anne Chapel, in Escanaba, and together the couple resided in Escanaba for four years before relocating to the Flat Rock area where they made their home and raised their family. Throughout her life, Rosalie worked as a homemaker, caring for her husband and raising their seven children. Rosalie was a very caring person who loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards and taking trips to the casino. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing and roller skating. She will be deeply missed.

3 Daughters: Debra (Mark) Winker of Soo Hill, MI, Cindy (Tom) Taylor of Menominee Falls, WI, Connie (Tony) Mayville of Escanaba, MI
1 Brother: Walter Derusha of Escanaba, MI
Also included in the list of survivors are 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Alex and Amanda and her stepfather, Joe LaChance, Rosalie was preceded in death by:
1 Son: Wayne “Butch” King
3 Sisters: Laura, Edith and Lorraine
1 Brother: Wilfred Derusha
The King family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Rosalie E. King will follow visitation, at 4:00PM, at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home, with Fr. Frank Lenz of the Holy Family Catholic Church officiating. Committal services will follow at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. Luncheon will be served following committal services, at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Escanaba. The Skradski-Boyce Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the King family with arrangements.
