Jane M. Nickell, age 64, of 221 South 10th Street, Escanaba, MI died Thursday evening February 9, 2006 at home surrounded by her family.

Jane was born March 4, 1941 in Perkins, MI the daughter of Albert and Alena (Alko) Demeuse. She was united in marriage to Larry E. Nickell in 1960 and together they had 5 sons: Eugene (Anna) Nickell of Escanaba; Donald (Ellie) Nickell of Hyde; Glen (April) Nickell of Escanaba; Tim (Stacey) Nickell of Escanaba; and Dale who passed away as an infant.

She leaves them and 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, and her special dog “Lady”. She will be greatly missed also by 2 Sisters, Elaine (Arthur) LaMarche of Pine Ridge, and Shirley (Robert) Gardner of Cornell, and a brother, Dan (Sharon) Demeuse of Escanaba. Sister-in-law, Eileen Demeuse of Gladstone and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane enjoyed fishing, camping, snomobiling, going to the casino and putzing around her house and yard. She had 200 plus cookie jars and she took pleasure in making candy houses, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents and infant son Dale, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry on March 25, 2002 and 2 sisters, Velma and Betty and 1 brother Clarence “Sonny”

Jane’s family will receive friends on Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 5:15 P.M. at the Skradski-Boyce Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial services will follow at 6:00 P.M. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be in the Bark River Cemetery.
