Joyce J. Hardwick, age 74, of 422 Dakota Avenue; Gladstone, died Friday, April 14th, 2006 at the Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba where she was a patient since September.
Joyce was born March 15th, 1932, in Brampton, the daughter of Earl and Malvina (Bellfufulle) Davis and was a lifelong Brampton and Gladstone area resident except for living at Harbor Tower in Escanaba for a brief period of time.
Joyce was in the nursing care profession, having been a nurses aide for many years and was last employed for the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba for over 20 years until her retirement. In her leisure, she enjoyed working crossword and jig-saw puzzles and she was an avid reader. Her family especially remembers her for her particular fondness of quilting.
Joyce Hardwick’s survivors include:
3 Sons- Jerry Hardwick of Wells, MI; John (Donna) Hardwick of the Traverse City area; Mark (Tammy) Hardwick of Kingsford, MI
3 Daughters- Janine (Rick) Kuklinski of Howards Grove, WI; Melody Boudreau of Gladstone; Anita (Mike) Gillis of Gladstone
1 Brother- Stephen (Betty) Davis of Grawn, MI
1 Sister- Barbara (Warren) Jones of Brampton
10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Davis, and by four sisters; Lucy Little, Eileen McQueen, Ethel Walkernagel, and Janine Davis. An infant daughter also preceded her in death.
The family of Joyce J Hardwick will receive friends on Monday at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Services celebrating Joyce’s life will follow on Monday at 12:00 Noon at the Skradski Funeral Home with Rev. Joanne Bartelt of the Memorial United Methodist Church officiating.
